Camping season is upon us. When fully equipped, any time of the year is great for traveling in your RV. What types of portable gas grills are great for RVers? If you are vegetarians like us you will think of grilling those yummy healthy organic colorful vegetables and delicious and nutritious organic tofu and vegan meat!

And, rather than write another “best of” article, we would create a “best of the best” list of portable gas grills for RVs.

Criteria

We rounded up 11 articles on the best portable propane grills for 2020. We consulted only lists created specifically for RV owners. We looked at freestanding and tabletop models. There was a surprising amount of variety, with a number of models receiving only one or two mentions.
But these five rose to the top as the best of the best for 2020.

This was the hands-down winner. The Coleman RoadTrip LXE is the only freestanding grill that made the cut, and it was mentioned on all but one of the 11 lists we consulted. Four ranked it number one.

The Weber Q-2200 Liquid Propane Grill was only slightly behind its little brother with five #1 rankings. It is also a restyling, in this case of the Q-200.

This is the priciest grill in the roundup, but it has many loyal fans who believe it’s well worth the cost.
What reviewers liked:
Easy to assemble, quality build, a little larger than most portable units, stainless steel burner, electronic ignition, temperature gauge, foods cook evenly, temperatures easy to control, even heat distribution, folding side tables.
What they didn’t like:
Expensive, heavy, heats slowly. Some felt that the model it replaced (the Q200) was sturdier.

The Cuisinart Petite Gourmet Portable Gas Grill with VersaStand is by far the smallest and lightest weight of the models reviewed. It has a telescoping stand for use as a freestanding or tabletop unit. Some customers have complained of poor-quality build, but it remains highly rated.
