Before you go: national park basics for RVers
- Book early. Popular park campgrounds open reservations months ahead and fill fast, especially in summer.
- Check your rig length. Many park campgrounds and scenic roads have size limits. Each guide above lists what fits.
- Plan for dry camping. Hookups are rare inside the parks, so arrive with full fresh water and empty tanks.
- Check entry rules. Some parks use timed-entry or vehicle reservations in busy months. Confirm on the park’s official NPS.gov page before you leave.
